This thing is a beast! The stump in the photos took about 1.5 hrs because of the giant root system it had. This is the biggest and most complex one so far. In six days I have eliminated 127 stumps on our property. I would definitely encourage anyone on the fence over purchasing the SG24 that they will not be disappointed.

The stump grinder looks very well made and arrived in excellent condition. Will not be using till this coming spring but I don't expect any problems.

This stump grinder works great and is well made. So far I’ve used it to grind 5 large Bradford Pear stumps and it has worked very well. The stump in the picture took 24 minutes to grind and it was roughly 28 inches in diameter.

Unit arrived in excellent condition. Freight shipping was rather fast. I chose to pick it up at the fedex freight terminal which was easy. I have mounted it and still need to shorten the drive shaft and install it. Unit is built super heavy duty. Thank you Mechmaxx

Ordering was easy. Paid extra for piece of mind shipping. Scheduled for a certain date and time. It showed up 3.5 hours early, luckily I had taken off of work to be home. The stump grinder works great. I have ground around 20 stumps so far.

Very impressed, ground an oak stump that measured 6 foot at it's widest. Even ground the rocks that was in the stump. No chipped carbide teeth, still sharp.

Finally getting around to a Follow up review… I’ve only had the opportunity to grind a few of the stumps that I need to but this grinder doesn’t disappoint… you could pay more from someone else but I’m very impressed with the quality of the mechmaxx so far… the first stump I tried was 38” across made quick work of it… probably only took me about 15min I’m already planning my next purchase from mechmaxx…

I bought this on sale even before I took delivery of my tractor and it has easily paid for itself already after the first weekend of use. Smaller stumps that have been plaguing grass cutting were taken out in a matter of minutes. I did not expect to be able to grind one of the larger stumps in the yard, which was about 3 feet in diameter and sticking out about 18 inches above the ground. In addition, the root system was about 12 feet in diameter and was above grade by about another 18 inches near the center of the stump. It did take a while, but I was able to completely level the area, once again making it easier for grass to grow and to mow across even ground. Assembly was very simple, the shipping was quick and efficient, and the equipment feels very solid like it was last a very long time. I did not have to do any trimming/adjustment to the driveshaft for my 2025 Kubota L2502, and the clutch adjustment was simple with clear instructions. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase.

I had low expectations. Hoped to knock out all the little stumps so I could get the big ones done in a one day rental of a “real” stump grinder. I didn’t expect to install it and then proceed to grind out 5 stumps in about two hours! 3 of the stumps were 2-3 feet across at ground level. Simply an awesome machine! I expect to grind out a huge maple stump tomorrow. Incredible value for $1399!

The Product is well built and solid. The thickness of the steel used on all parts is great and sturdy. I had an issue with the supplied PTO connecting to the stump grinder itself. It took me and 2 neighbors to get it on. Between chiseling the receiving shaft open and smacking it on with a maul (wood to protect the shaft) we were able to muscle the PTO shaft to the implement. Quality Control on PTO fitment would fix this issue. Needless to say I got it on and its never coming off. Shipping packaging was great. A solid iron cage.

Just received my SG24 stump grinder… haven’t uncrated it yet but if the grinder is 1/2 as good as the quality of the shipping crate I’m going to be a long time customer.. I have been in the shipping industry for 35 years and I rarely see this quality/care put into a shipping method… the metal crate will be repurposed in my shop for sure… I was a bit skeptical given the low cost of the machine but so far I’m glad I pulled the trigger on it.. Fed ex shipping wasn’t bad but would have preferred UPS

After debating about it for a week and watching videos on YouTube about it. I Pulled the trigger on the SG24. Took about 10 days to receive once I ordered. Sales dept was quick to reply with any questions about product and ETA on shipping. Once arrived it was packaged very well. Took about 2 hours to fully assemble. Directions are very clear. Installed it on my Kioti 3510 w/quick hitch. Didn’t have to make any adjustments on PTO shaft. Fits perfectly. After testing it out on a few small stumps. Knocked out a 25” oak stump in 45mins Definitely invest in a rear camera it helps not having to stay turned around constantly. Your back and neck will thank you guaranteed. Best one on Amazon is $39. Already knocked out 15 stumps in 2 days. Everything is smooth and tight. Cutters are still sharp. Definitely would recommend this MechMaxx stump grinder to anyone. Definitely worth the price. Put this on our Massey Ferguson 25 hp tractor. Take it slow and steady. Works great! We've had this for a year now. Taken out about 6 small (1-2 ft diameter) and 5 large (3-5 ft diameter) stumps. Still works great.

Ordered the grinder Sunday after church and unloaded it off the truck Thursday. Everything was as it should be and prestine. Assembly wasnt bad, read the directions unlike me, the bracket on the front has to be flipped, takes 2 minutes, and remove the bolts from the shaft ujoint on the grinder side before trying to install it, very important. Took maybe 15 minutes to assemble, including my mistakes. Drove it straight to a 30" hard, green cherry stump and went to town. Oh my does this thing eat wood. Strongly reccomend.

I have to say the customer service is outstanding. I'm a customer for life. As you see in the picture it says to start small well, I'm sorry I went big and it ate right through the wood like butter. using it on a L3901 works like a charm. I have lots more to do just waiting for it to dry out on my land.

I have been more than pleased. I am amazed at the speed and ease of grinding stumps with my SG24. I have ground over 20 stumps and my grinder still looks and works like new. I am a very pleased customer. I have included a couple of pics of stump I just did today. The customer had cut the part of the tree down that was interfering with their fence so I ground the base of the tree back to the fence. The stump grinder was delivered promptly. The stump grinder had clear instructions and was easy to put together. The fittings were greased properly. The product is very heavy duty and well built. It works well for the few stumps I was able to grinder. As the snow melts. We plan to put it to good use. We would give this product 5 stars out of 5.

This is the first PTO stump grinder I’ve ever used. I had to buy a torque wrench to tighten the teeth on the blade, but that was it. Everything else lined up perfectly. It’s a slow process, but worth it. I’ve grinded about 24 stumps, 10-24 inches. $150 Per stump in my area. It has already paid for itself. This is a great tool and I’m very pleased with it.

Delivery was good, easily assembled, directions were easy to follow. When I cut my first stump I started out small and was surprised how it chewed it up so easily. I have since cut much larger stumps and it did the job well. Good investment.

I purchased this stump grinder and absolutely Love it. I had 4 1/2 acres of 65 year old red pine cut down. It left a lot of big stumps. Got mine just before thanksgiving. Needed to remove.4 large pine stump next to a new garage i had built.It ground through them like a hot knige through butter. I then tackeled a large poplar stump from 16 years before. I have tried burning it by soaking it with diesel fuel and used motor oil and it charred it but was still solid. I probably should have cut the stump closer to the ground but really wanted to see if the sg24 grinder could handle it. I had to work infrom the sides until i got the height down abit but the grinder never missed a beat and an happy to say that eyesore of a stump is gone! I would recommend having a spotter or getting the camera since.you really cant see much from the tractor seat. JD1025r handled it well power wise but the front end was kinda light, so use put some ballast in your loader bucket for better steering.

Definitely worth the money. I have done 10 stumps so far and they have ranged from 20" to 40" in diameter and still cutting great in no time at all. Plus I added wheels to the shipping frame that it came in and I can move it around anywhere. I highly recommend this product, very durable and well constructed.

We have used the stump grinder to grind 35 stumps so far from very large to medium sized. This stump grinder made short work of them and was completely effortless. The teeth are still like new and even the paint is unblemished. For us, this was a great purchase at a very reasonable price.

After considerable research my son and I decided to take a chance on this grinder. It shipped fast, came well packaged and virtually ready to use. Minimal assembly was needed, and the extra wrenches were a great addition. We did have to shorten the shaft using a band saw to make a nice, clean cut. After that it was easy to attach to the tractor. We have eliminated close to 12 stumps and it rocks. All good and I might add the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Still need to set up a backup camera which we will do this week, and it should really help. So overall, absolutely no complaints.

This is a very well built machine and it works perfectly. Ground 3 stumps and it chews them up quickly. I highly recommend this stump grinder if your in the market for one.

I've only had it a couple of weeks, but have ground 10 stumps so far.... So far I'm VERY happy with the purchase! It arrived well packaged, it was easy to assemble, and everything about it seems well designed and well made. *except the chainsaw holder, that's a little sloppy. **and if I'm going to be critical, it'd be nice if the two spare holes on the top were sized properly to store the 'pivot pins' while in use. Aside from those minor points.... This thing works awesome! First stump pictured was the first test of the unit. It was 18"-22" across, and ground up nicely in 3-5 minutes! After 10 stumps in northern Minnesota gravely/rocky soil, all teeth look great, zero nicks or chips yet.

Pretty happy with this stump grinder. I was fairly skeptical but I thought for the price we'd give it a shot. I've ran through 40ish stumps so far of various wood species and sizes and it really does work well. The down side is the visability, you really can not see what you're doing so theres a learning curve there as it is some what by feel of the grinder and the tractor. I was apprehensive to use my BX23s for this as it was on the low end of recommended PTO HP. But the tractor handles the stump grinder with no problems. If you crowd the grinder too much it will work the tractor but it is also obvious you attempting to remove too much material. Makes short work of even larger stumps. I am beyond satisfied with the results. Large stumps were worked up in less than 20 min which is bit faster than advertised in the manual. With the ash borer killing off about 5 acres of woods by me, the removal of stumps will be a breeze. PTO Shaft trimming was a bit interesting but easy enough for most folks. Vibration was also a fear of mine but I would say it is much smoother than expected. Shipping container was exceptional as well and I had no fears of possible transport damage. After 12 stumps I could not recommend it more. Very very satisfied! Thanks!

The stump grinder works great. I’ve done two stumps after receiving it yesterday. Each took about 30 minutes. The one in the pictures was about 30” diameter. Easy to put together. I run it off a Kubota BX24. Works good unless you go to deep. I would recommend this product.

One of the best implements i have purchased for my farm. The stumps I had stopped a lot of my projects. After receiving my stump grinder in Oct, so far, i have been able to take out at least 40 stumps, ranging my 4" to 12". I have yet to take the huge 26" -30" stumps down but that will be attempted in the next few days. The only setback is line up the stumps with the grinder and turning my body around to grind it down. I fixed that issue by purchasing a separate wireless backup camera to watch the flywheel, once i got that, it was all homeruns. Their customer service is excellent and so is the quality of the implement. Most definitely 5 stars!

The mechmaxx stump grinder for itself already. It’s specs are identical to the higher priced competitors. It’s a great match for my JD 2038r. If you’re in the market for a 3-point stump grinder, rest assured you’re getting just as high quality as the competitors, but at a much lower cost. I’m now considering their 3-point wood chipper as well.

Great quality product. I believe the Mech Maxx SG24 stump grinder out performs any commercial stump grinder that I’ve seen. I recommend purchasing the camera to safe your neck if you have many stumps like myself.

Works great. I have ground 13 stumps so far of all sizes. Large ones take a while. There is a little learning curve to get the hang of it. It is definitely hard on your neck have to look backwards for so long.

I bought this for my kubota 3902 and i have quick hitch and installs perfectly without having to cut shaft. I've ground about 15 stumps last year and 5 this year so far. It's easier with a ground guy to tell you to go back further or lower since it's hard to gauge from the tractor. I have no regret buying this machine, it's well made and if your on fence to purchase, do it

I bought it in winter time I got to use it did great. One thing I would add you might need to trim shaft in operating I didn't need to trim shaft but when I raised up higher I needed to cut a inch off very easy to do. Great tool I have 12 stumps to grind for customers.

I've been on the fence about getting one of these for about 3 years. It has paid for itself in one hour of using it. I have it mounted on a John Deere 3038e and it has plenty of power to tear through stumps. I took out 3 cedars and a big cottonwood with it in just under an hour. There is a learning curve with it. You have to start with small bites. Overall, its a unit. 100 percent recommended.

This thing is a Beast! Once I figured out the RPM to run at this will eat anything in front of it although it needs to take smaller bites of the harder wood. There is a bit of a learning curve but I would highly recommend if you have a bunch of stumps to grind. Great price, shipping and Customer support.

Works great! Shredded a small patch (6) of 4 to 6 inch cedars-they can grow in clusters and look like a gnarly bush here in NM. Its hooked to a kubota LX 3520HST, just the right size tool I believe.

Running this on a Kubota B2650 (26 gross HP, 19.5 PTO HP) with a quick hitch and it works perfectly. Well worth the money. Setup was easy in an hour or two, you may need an extra hand getting the PTO shaft attached to the stump grinder itself unless you get creative as that was the hardest part. With a quick hitch 15 you'll need two category 3 adapters to fit the width on the implement. Great value for the price, easy setup with clear instructions. Highly recommend.

No issues with Mechmax, haven’t used the stump grinder yet. Was a little disappointed with the delivery especially since I paid extra for it. FedEx freight was 3.5 hours late. Other than that everything was good.

The stump grinder came very well packaged. It appears to be a very well built machine. I wasn’t aware that it had to be used on hydrostatic tractor as my tractor is shuttle shift. No problem, I found a really nice 20 horsepower New Holland tractor on Marketplace and will be installing grinder on it.

The grinder was made of thick steel plate, very good quality and design. I used it for about 3 hours and ground down 5 stumps, the largest about 30" in diameter. I had to remove 2" from the length of the drive shaft and set the spring tension on the slip clutch for my 30 horse Kubota, B-series tractor and retorqued all the nuts on the carbide tipped inserts. The stump grinder works so good! I am amazed at the quality and functionality of this grinder. I ground out 17 stumps in 4 hours. 10” to 40” stumps. I do recommend the camera.

The only suggestion I have is to put the instructions in the tube meant for holding them and not in the box that holds the shaft on the bottom of the package. They were very difficult to retrieve.

I have used this stump grinder twice and am very happy with it. Built rugged and did a great job getting rid of s huge stump in no time. Really glad I bought it. Despite towing all the cutters, I lost one, but easily slipped another in its place. Great product.

I've had great success with the stump grinder,removed approximately 40 tree stumps the majority of them being Pine with a few Oaks ranging from 6 to 24 inches in diameter. These were all just recently fell so all were green and tough but with patience and practice I've completed my project. There's more to be done in the near future.

Have not uncrated or used my new stump grinder yet due to winter weather. I looked inside the box and was pleased with the way it was protected for shipment. Even though the cardboard was damaged no worries due to the heavy steel cage around the grinder.

Easily one of the best accessories I have bought for my tractor. My only complaint is that a job I have had estimated several weekend to complete, only took about 8 hours. This machine ground through cedar stumps like a finger in a peanut butter jar. I debated the purchase for about 6 months and finally purchased the stump grinder, I should have purchased it on day one. I am so impressed I am asking the neighbors if I can grind any stumps on their property.

I have seen a few videos on the sg24 somehow I thought the 24mm torque adapter came with the unit . It is just not something I have in my tool cabinets . Not complaining about the unit , just thought it would be there for set up and to keep everything tight .

The setup was easy with the instructions provided. Trimming the PTO shaft was a measure five times and cut three times for me. But got it sized correctly and put it to work. Works great!

Bought the 3 point stump grinder and the backup camera system...I was delayed in putting this package to work and had a few problems. The customer service was excellent and they solved my problem! Very happy with the purchase. I have ground 32 stumps with it so far and it works great. I have it mounted to a 25hp Kubota with hyrdostat. the viability is not the best as described by others, the camera system is very much worth the money as a add on wouldn’t want to run it without it. The only complaint I have it the chain saw mount is junk. Just leave it off the machine and buy a good one that mounts to the loader arms of the tractor as it works much better and the bolts don’t fall off like the ones on the grinder. Other than that I would definately recommend this purchase. Small shipping issue I said no lift gate and a semi will fit at my residence. FedEx took it upon theirselves to change that to a lift truck and smaller since it was residential. I contacted them they put it back on the semi no lift gate and no charge. So make sure you follow up on the shipping notifications.

Definitely a learning curve involved. Does a great job if you don’t get in a hurry. Manufacturer needs to do better in letting prospective buyer know that a hydrostatic drive tractor is not required, but MOST CERTAINLY preferred.

I'm very pleased with my SG24. I purchased my machine 05/25. I'm on stump 28 of 50. So far the machine is performing well. I have my SG24 on a Massey Ferguson GC1725M (19 hp. PTO). A little more PTO horsepower would help but its all working together well. Thank you MechMaxx for a reliable grinder at a great price.

Recently purchased the SG24 stump grinder. Delivered in about a week, set up went smoothly and it appears to be well built. Grinded roughly 20 stumps from 10" to 24" diameter and performance was as advertised. Got another 100 or so to go, and it appears that that this thing is up to the task. Happy with the purchase.

Metal box surround very substantial and repurposed. 1st device every attached to small MF tractor. took a couple of hours to install. Never used PTO before. Still practicing but getting better with adjusting lift height and aligning to ground. Hardest part is seeing blade at contact. Really tough on my neck. Very pleased with device. Super useful tool!

It was delivered in a week to my front door. Was easy to put together. I have it on a small tractor about 26hp. So let's test it out on some small stumps and worked great. Now the real test was on a five foot diameter maple stump. The key is take small bites and move slow and let the grinder work. Yes, it took time but did a good job and I had enough horse power too.

Good value for what the price is. Went through several stumps in one afternoon both small and large. Had to use a quick hitch in order to fit.

I was sceptical buying something on line and not seeing it in person. But don't be. This is a beast. assembly was about an hour and not at all hard. It's heavy and well built. I have ground a few stumps so far from 12 inches to 30 in. in diameter. There is a learning curve on how much to grind at a time, but easy to get used to. I found it works best starting on the rt. side and working across to the left (rt side as sitting in the drivers seat) The only issue I had was there is no updates sent for delivery from seller. shipping was about 2 weeks from CA to NY. I do recommend this product and will purchase more from Mech Maxx

After reading other reviews I was willing to wait but was concerned about shipping time taking awhile, not the case! It shipped in just a couple of day and it arrived less than week from purchase date. It was easy to finish assembling, put it straight to work and this thing is a beast!. Top quality product that started saving us money from day one, when we took out four stumps to try it out. Had we hired someone to do those stumps, it would likely have cost more than what this grinder cost -- and we have countless more stumps to do as we clear some land. This is probably the best implement investment for my tractor yet. I an truly pleased with the unit it is a beast. I have ground 1 huge maple and 2 large pecan stumps, with no problems. If anyone is considering purchasing one these, just go ahead and get-er done you will not be disappointed.

My SG 24 is as TY said in his post. Arrived in a shipping roll cage. Once unpacked and a few installs, got to work grinding stumps. Once I got the jist of it, I took out 7 stumps I less than 2 hours. that's impressive because the stumps were old ash and walnut. Some hard stumps. I have 5 very large oak stumps for my brother to remove and anticipate no problems. Great "toy".

I bought this for my Kubota. It’s an extremely solid unit and powers through stumps very quickly. The packaging was top notch as well as they essentially have a roll cage built around it for shipping.

One I got the hang of it, the grinder worked great. To my surprise it worked better than I thought it was going to.

The only negitive is FedEx. After 2 weeks lead on scheduling delivery they still did not deliver on time. Pluse they did not follow delivery instruction. So be aware of FedEx. The stump grinder does a great job. Have cut up 18 stumps so far. Your tractor needs a very low gear or you will ride the clutch. A duel case tractor would work great for a low gear. Outside of that, no issues at all. Great buy for the price.

I love the machine. The only thing is that the advertisement needs to explain better that it needs a hydrostatic drive tractor for perfect performance. I use mine with a standard clutch system by picking up the stump grinder and moving forward at about 1 inch at a time to grind the stumps. Works fine only takes longer.

Setup went better than expected. I did not experience any of the little problems I read about that some people experienced. I started off small with a 10" diameter stump...that was easy. I've ground about seven stumps, so far. Some were more of a beating than others, but this PTO attachment is SO much easier than other methods. I've already gotten my money out of this thing, but still have many more stumps to grind. I will say that grinding with this has a learning curve. It's hard to stay turned around and hit the stump correctly with each pass to keep from bouncing or bogging down my tractor. I only have a 24 hp tractor. The most difficult part of this was getting the PTO shaft to fit. After trying to force it in, I finally realized I needed to trim down the shaft. Once I did that, it went on easily and I have not removed it, yet. I'm getting lower quick hitches to make pick-up and removal easier. I think my wife has been more impressed than I am. She's been out there watching me grind them down and then sweeping away dirt, when I get down to the roots. She said she enjoys watching it work. It's funny, because she's not really an "outdoorsy" girl. Great product.

I have a Kubota L3800 (38 gross horsepower and 31 horsepower at the PTO) that I paired the stump grinder with.This combination works better than I had expected. I have almost 40 years of industrial maintenance experience and I can recognize when something is well built or junk. The build quality is better than I had expected. All of the components are easily serviceable with parts that will can be locally sourced if need be. The carbide cutters are thick and will be easy to sharpen with a diamond hone then they dull. The main flange mount bearings will be easy to replace when they wear out. The initial setup is a bit time consuming but necessary. I have recently ground many stumps without any problems and no bogging my tractor. One stump in particular is from a pretty big red oak tree that I cut down a few months ago. This stump grinder chewed through this stump with ease. There is no annoying vibration which tells me that the tolerences the grinder is built to are very tight and without low quality fitment that is often found with budget impliments. I definitely recommend this attachment to anyone that has the equipment to handle it and wants to save a lot of money doing the job and doing it right. I am looking forward to retirement in a few years and will probably offer affordable stump grinding services to the local community. great product at an excellent price.

Ordered mine 4/2/25 - arrived 4/23/25. Impressed with it. Heavy duty and well made. Today did 7 stumps in about 2 hours. Directions say start with small one, but I found big pine tree stumps allowed me to get the hang of it. So far so good.

I ordered this to fit with my New holland Workmaster 40. I have better then 30 stumps to remove. Let me tell you, this stump grinder is a game changer. Once you get the feel, it cuts and grinds the stumps like a hot knife through butter. Very happy with the stump grinder on my Kioti CX2510. Delivery was quick and efficient. Email updates throughout delivery kept you informed. Soft wood will take bigger cuts and speeds up overall time. Fresh red oak takes smaller cuts but works excellent. Use the bagger on the lawn mower to pick up the chips. Even comes packaged in a nice crate. I chose to put castors on the base of the crate while grinder isn't in service. Would happily purchase again.

I was a little concerned because I watched a lot of videos and most videos from other stump grinders plus this one. I believe with soft wood stumps. I’m actually grinding white oaks which is a hardwood and it works great. If I purchase another attachment, it’s definitely gonna be with this company. No questions. Ask.

Received mine yesterday and am very impressed with the unit. Assembly was a breeze. Unit worked flawlessly on my John Deere.

I purchased the stump grinder and some of the extra carbide teeth the stump grinder came nicely crated the carbide teeth showed up the next day. The stump grinder weights is 564 pounds so it made very well the carbide teeth are as big as my finger . The stump grinder has everything you need to start grinding stump except the tractor . I am looking forward to using it on my first stump.

Very satisfied with the unit. Built heavy and performs well. I have went through Pine and black Walnut stumps with it already. The black walnut definitely gave it a challenge, little smaller chunks taken at a time but completed it without issues. Ran it on a JD 1025R.

Shipping took forever, but the company was very responsive to the inquiries I made for revised delivery date. I was also able to get in touch with the delivery company to ensure my driver had my contact info so I could arrange to meet him out on the road with my tractor to pick up the item with pallet forks. The grinder operated as it should and as described. Has slight issue when ordered but was quickly resolved by the MechMaxx team within hours of the notification. So far, with every use, the grinder has met all the intended expectations. I have used for root removal, small stump grinding on samplings, larger grindings on 18-20" Walnut and 20-24" Oaks. Hardwoods take some patience as you would expect but the grinder held its own and did the job. Very happy with price point as well. I run this grinder on a 38HP Kubota L3560 turning out 28-29hp at the PTO.

Very pleased with this stump grinder. Good quality stump grinder for the price. I Have ground over 29 stumps without any issues at all. All my stumps were Oak,Ash, Locust and wild cherry. The largest was an old oak 58” diameter. Took some time(about 4 hrs) but got it done. The teeth are are holding up great. The only thing I’ve done to this is tightened up the teeth occasionally and greased it often. I did add a rake holder and a shield to block things flying back toward the operator.
